Do Not Become The Emotion

What we feel is real, but it is not who we are. I wear clothes, but the clothes are not me. I drive a car, but the car is not me. I live in a house, but the house is not me. I feel emotions, but the emotion is not me. All of this follows the same path, but we often miss seeing the connection. We feel the emotion so strongly that we forget, and we mistakenly believe that is who we are. Let it come in, and let it go out. As with all external things, the emotion is its own thing, and you will still be you when it passes.
